What does an initial (bodywork, coaching, mental health support) session look like?
All first sessions will include 10-30 minutes of intake. During this time you and Joy will go over your health history and discuss your overall treatment goals. Joy will go over options that she can offer to meet your treatment goals, educating about what different options entail if needed. You and Joy will work together to determine a treatment plan. This can be a comprehensive plan or a plan that just covers the treatment you came in for that day.

All followup sessions will start as soon as possible after the client walks into the treatment area, usually within 5-10 minutes of arrival, depending on how much updating the client needs to give the practitioner.

Are any of the services offered at Ahh covered by medical insurance?

No, therapeutic bodywork, coaching, and support services are not currently covered by medical insurance.

Bodywork is, however, covered by many car insurance companies. If you have been injured in a car accident please call and we can check if your massage is covered.

Is your space ADA accessible?
My Northeast Minneapolis studio is not ADA accessible. Please be aware that the treatment room is up two flights of stairs. However, if you don’t mind driving 2 miles from the studio, my home is handicapped accessible and I would be happy to work with you there. Please send me a message if you would like to explore this option.
Do you do outcalls?
Outcalls are generally only granted to those who do not have the physical ability to make it to the studio OR to pre-existing clients. Joy charges a $20 outcall fee for all in-person treatments conducted outside the studio.
I have recently had an injury. Is Therapeutic Bodywork right for me?
If you have a serious injury, you will probably want to check with your doctor about the best method of therapy for you. It is very possible bodywork can be integrated into your treatment.
I am recovering from an illness, how long should I wait before scheduling my next session?
Please wait 1 week before scheduling your next session OR wear an N95 mask to your next session.
What forms of payment do you take?
Cash (preferred), Credit, Paypal, and Venmo.
